Gallery Napoleon, a specialist on comic books

DEGOTTE Charles

Charles DEGOTTE made his debut as an animator for the Dupuis T.V.A. studios. For this same publishing house, he did the layouts for SPIROU magazine, starting in 1958. From 1961, he also took on illustrating, and produced a great number of stories in the so-called mini-books section.
In one of these mini-books, he created the character the FLAGADA, a wacky bird whose adventures later also appeared in SPIROU's regular pages, first in short episodes, then later in longer stories. In 1984, DEGOTTE started the hotrod gag series LES MOTARDS, which ran until 1993, the year of his death. Souce: Lambiek.
