Gallery Napoleon, a specialist on comic books

LOISEL REGIS

Régis LOISEL moved to Paris in 1972, and that's where it all began. He was just twenty years old when his first comic strip was published in 1972 in Les Pieds Nickelés Magazine.

In 1975, the first strips of "La quête de l'oiseau du temps" were published in Imagine (a luxurious magazine directed by Rodolphe).

In 1990, Loisel launched himself alone in a very free and personal interpretation of Sir James Matthew Barrie's "Peter Pan" (published by Vents d'Ouest). In 1993, he illustrates what he considers a pure masterpiece of fun, "La Dernière Goutte" est toujours pour le slip, an erotic work written by Georges-Philippe Taladiart.

In November 1998, he entrusted Philippe Sternis with the task of putting Pyrénée in pictures, published by Glénat. Towards the end of the 90's, he started writing scenarios for other authors...

Régis LOISEL was awarded the Grand Prix of the Angoulême Festival in 2002, in tribute to his work. He is now considered as one of the masters of modern comics.
